From the moment I picked up a pencil and drew my first picture, I was hooked. I've always been happiest when I'm either reading, playing hard or drawing. My preferred mediums were pencil, colored pencil and ballpoint pen.
I took a hiatus starting in my early 20's and didn't create any art for years. Then, I few years ago, I started up again. I had no idea I'd missed it so much!
These days, I've discovered fabric painting. There have been some trial and errors as I learned the correct way to do it so the clothing can still be washed! I had painted a denim jacket of mine and put it through the wash to see what would happen. It was ruined! So that was a good learning experience. (I've since fixed the jacket's painting and still wear it. It was one of the Phoenix Rising's you see on my site.)
Painting on clothing is fun. I also paint on canvas or wood, I still illustrate. I still use colored pencils or ballpoint pen.
